Dormice are fascinating animals that need our help. There are many things you can do to help support dormice and get involved – such as participating on a great nut hunt, becoming a dormouse monitor, or coming along to one of our dormouse events. We need your support to continue protecting dormouse and their habitat in Hampshire. Here are the main ways you can make a difference today:
Become a Hampshire Dormouse Group member in addition to receiving all of our membership benefits, you will be helping to conserve dormouse populations in Hampshire.
Have you seen a dormouse? Submit your records of dormice found in Hampshire. These records are essential to understand our dormouse populations and support their conservation.
We monitor dormouse populations by carrying out nest box surveys several times a year. We might find a dormouse nest, an individual dormouse snoozing, or a whole family jumping around!
Come along and join us at our next event. Learn more about dormice, our conservation work and even make a pom-pom dormouse to take home! Invite us to talk with your group or organisation about dormice or support us by volunteering at our next event.
There are many ways to volunteer and support our dormouse conservation work, from joining us on the great nut hunt to becoming a dormouse monitor. Dormouse monitoring is not only great fun but is vital work ensuring the hazel dormouse is conserved.
